What is an Endodontist?

An endodontist is a highly skilled dental specialist that focuses solely on diagnosing and treating the tissue inside of a tooth. Besides completing dental school, an endodontist receives additional years of training in endodontics that results in a unique qualification to complete root canal therapy and other endodontic procedures with ultimate skill and accuracy.

Why Do I Need a Root Canal?

The soft tissue inside of a tooth can become inflamed or injured for a variety of reasons, including decay, a crack in the tooth, or an infection. The indicated treatment is often root canal therapy, which can save the tooth, alleviate the pain, and eliminate the need for an extraction.

Does a Root Canal Hurt?

A root canal, or any endodontic procedure completed at RidgeGate Endodontics, does not hurt. Every procedure we provide is performed under local anesthesia administered by Dr. Lawlor, whose calming demeanor will ease your anxiety and help you relax. Our office is designed for your comfort and positive experience.
