The truth is, it’s not the same for every patient. Since we haven’t met you (or your tooth!), we will begin every new patient appointment with a consultation.  Once Dr. Lawlor has discussed her findings, she will answer any questions you have and discuss next steps.  Many times, treatment can be initiated the same day.

In most cases, we will need to take our own imaging.  While many dental offices are incorporating 3D imaging into their offices, these 3D images often depict a broader, more panned-out perspective so that your dentist can identify potential problems throughout your mouth.  Our 3D image is focused only on the specific area of concern and the level of detail is much greater.

100%.  No silent partners.  No private equity.  No corporate owners.  Nobody else drives our decisions about how we practice.

The toothache pain that often precedes the need for a root canal can be very intense.  That’s often where the reputation comes from.  It’s not normal to feel pain during a root canal procedure and Dr. Lawlor will do everything in her power to make sure you are completely comfortable.  She’s known for her very gentle and calm demeanor.

Our focus is on our patients.  From your first interaction in our office to your last, it’s important to us that you feel listened to, that your questions are addressed and that you feel 100% comfortable with any recommended treatment.

Isn’t the art beautiful?!  Dr. Lawlor’s mother-in-law, Ruth Lawlor, actually created all of the original pieces you see throughout the office.   You can see more of her pieces on her website, rjlawlorcontemporaryart.com.

In almost all circumstances, having a root canal is no different than having other dental work like a filling or a crown.  You can expect to be numb for several hours after your appointment.  Some soreness of the jaw and the tooth is typical in the first 24-48 hours and is generally easy to control with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen.

We don’t want nervousness to keep you from getting the care you need!  Please let us know about your interest in sedation when you make the initial call to our office.  We offer several options that may work for you.
